Aunque el hombre conforma numerosas hipótesis “científicas”, aquellas que intentan respaldar la evolución, en realidad no tienen nada de científicas. Los hechos comprobables y verificables de la ciencia, esto es, aquellos que se conforman a las leyes científicas, respaldan al diseño de la Creación por un Creador de infinito poder y conocimiento. Algunas de estas leyes son las de la Biogénesis y la apoptosis (muerte programada de las células).
Las células, que constituyen la unidad más básica y fundamental de la vida, se originan solamente de células pre-existentes. Esta es conocida como la ley de la Biogénesis (1). Varios profesores académicos reconocen en sus clases que no conocen el origen de la primer célula y por lo tanto afirman que evolucionó, aunque nadie sabe cómo se dio la evolución de la primer célula. Desde una perspectiva creacionista, en contraste, el hecho científico de que la unidad más básica de la vida solamente se genera de vida existente, tiene completo sentido. La Biblia nos enseña que Dios creó la vida y que, de ninguna manera, ésta se originó por medio de procesos naturales y aleatorios. El origen de la primera célula es entonces un problema, sólo cuando la Biología es estudiada bajo suposiciones materialistas y evolucionistas.
La muerte programada de las células, llamada apoptosis, presenta otro problema enigmático para los evolucionistas. Dentro de sus muchos roles importantes, la apoptosis elimina a las células dañadas para impedir que continúen dividiéndose y se conviertan en células cancerosas (2). La apoptosis le da la instrucción a la célula de cometer suicidio, previniendo así la aparición de cáncer. A su vez, la apoptosis es un componente normal en el desarrollo del feto dentro del vientre de su madre para la formación de órganos como los dedos de manos y pies (3). Como con cualquier invención humana, un mecanismo que se comporta con semejante instrucción tan específica, es una indicación de diseño.
Aún más, la apoptosis funciona tanto en seres humanos como en formas “primitivas” de vida, según les llaman los evolucionistas, por lo cual ellos le llaman “conservada evolutivamente”(4). Esto significa que dos organismos completamente separados en el supuesto árbol evolutivo, comparten secuencias similares de ADN (5). Esta similitud tan sorprendente no es resultado de extraordinaria coincidencia, sino de un extraordinario diseño proveniente de un Creador omnisciente.
Los evolucionistas batallan por explicar el origen de la apoptosis. Pero, nuevamente, desde una perspectiva creacionista la apoptosis tiene sentido, pues fue diseñada por un Creador perfecto para servir un propósito muy específico. Al igual que con el origen de las células, siempre existirán problemas al tratar de entender la apoptosis desde una perspectiva naturalista. A pesar de todas las suposiciones naturalistas y evolucionistas que prevalecen en la ciencia en nuestros días, las evidencias de la mano de Dios sobre toda Su creación son claramente visibles, de modo que nadie que rechaza al Creador, tiene excusa (Romanos 1:20).
